Course Description: Floriculture and Greenhouse Management exposes students to the art and science of growing plants, shrubs, trees, flowers, fruits and vegetables. In doing so, the course covers a wide variety of topics, including greenhouse and nursery operations, soils and media mixtures, fruit and vegetable production, interior and exterior plantscaping, irrigation systems, weed and pest control, and floral design. This course will include discussion and individual research projects, but will primarily be lab based.
Students will be expected to check their email once a day.
Students will be expected to check assignments for feedback within 24 hours of submitting.
Students are expected to complete every unit of the course
Students are expected to plan and carry out a Supervised Agricultural Experience Program.
Students will be asked to join the Lawrence Free State FFA.
Students will be expected to meet all deadlines.
